The Bachian Swing Consort reimagines the music of J.S. Bach as a living framework for improvisation, groove, and creative exchange. Rooted in both historically informed performance and modern improvising traditions, the ensemble combines bold new arrangements of Bach’s works with moments of free group improvisation—bridging Baroque structure and contemporary freedom. Filmed live in Austin over two nights in January 2024, The Bachian Swing Consort captures this unique blend of historical depth, rhythmic vitality, and spontaneous invention.
